Subject: Lesley's Operation Date: Wed, 25 Aug 1999 08:10:32 -0400 Lesley came through the operation in fine form. When I went to see her about an hour and a half after the operation, she was complaining of a headache but the extra morphine the nurse in Neurological Intensive Care gave her eventually took care of that and put her into a good sleep. She also asked me to rub her feet, which is typical Lesley. While awake she was aware of her surroundings, speaking well, and concerned about the kids and whether they made it to camp, got sunscreened, etc. She responded well to the little neurological tests she was given (raising arms, squeezing fingers, moving legs ...). She'll probably be moved to a regular bed this morning and be able to leave the hospital on Saturday or Sunday. She's got a wicked cool haircut that I'm sure will be in vogue in schools this fall :-). The doctor is waiting to see the results of the biopsy (Thursday or Friday) before discussing subsequent treatment. I'd like to thank each of you for your thoughts and wishes as we battle this tumor. I'll try to update you over the weekend. Dave
