Subject: Lesley Update - 3/16/01 Date: Fri, 16 Mar 2001 11:24:31 -0500 From: David Baldauf Hello everyone. Lesley continues to do well. The neurooncologist tells us he sees no changes on the MRIs (both January's and March's), but he said the last radiologist report from the January scans indicated there was some minor enhancement (possible tumor growth). The neurooncologist disagrees with the radiologist's report. We do not yet have the report from the March 13th scan so we don't know what the radiologist has to say about the scan. [Using my scanner I have scanned in a "row" from Lesley's January and March scans. I then tried to overlay the two in a way that would allow one to see changes. They can be seen at our website off of the Lesley's Condition/Lesley Updates page.] Our strategy is to continue the Temodar treatments until there is some significant change in the MRIs. We've seen no clinical changes at home as we continue to flow with the rhythms of the seasons. We managed to sneak in a week (with the neurooncologist's blessing) in Los Angeles over the kids' school vacation. We visited the California Science Museum, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studios Hollywood, Disney's (brand new!) California Adventure, and Disneyland. Pictures are available at the website. Lesley did very well, especially considering she was finishing up her 16th round of chemotherapy the first 2 days we were there. We all had a wonderful time in spite of the generally cool and sometimes wet weather. So, pretty much the status quo. Next planned trip is to NJ and Washington, DC over the April vacation week. We're all looking forward to it since it will be the kids' first trip to DC other than being in Ronald Reagan airport. :-) Dave -- Dave Baldauf, h/o Lesley (45), gbm, dx/srg 8/99, rad 9/99, rad completed 10/99, debulk srg 10/99, bone flap removal srg due to infection 11/99, started Temodar 12/99, started 17th round of Temodar 3/14/01 mailto:dbaldauf@alumni.brown.edu website: http://www.davebaldauf.com
